I am a freelance journalist based in Washington, D.C., with 25 years of experience working for newspapers, magazines, websites, and nonprofits across the country. I have covered just about every beat in the newsroom. 

After graduating with honors in journalism from the University of North Carolina, I worked for newspapers in North Carolina, Florida, and New Mexico before moving to Washington, D.C., where I was the news editor and an award-winning investigative reporter at Legal Times. 

As a freelance journalist, my articles have appeared in the Washington Post, Washingtonian, Hyperallergic, and other publications. I also am a communications consultant who writes press releases that have received widespread media coverage.
