Investigative Reporting

My investigative projects have won journalism awards and triggered needed reforms. An Albuquerque Journal series about a heroin epidemic in northern New Mexico led to a U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing and increased drug treatment funding that helped save lives. 

Investigative projects at Legal Times led to the dismissal of felony charges against 13 defendants and the firing of D.C. jail guards for failing to supervise mentally ill inmates who committed suicide in their cells.
